The famous green-and-white Star Ferries have been running across Victoria Harbour between Kowloon peninsula and Hong Kong Island since 1888 and is one of Hong Kong's icon. Although there are other ways to cross the harbour, the Star Ferry continues to provide an inexpensive and popular way of crossing the harbour.

This humble but legendary Star Ferry service between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon from piers in Central and Wan Chai on the Island and Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom in Kowloon. However, the route runs between Central and Tsim Sha Tsui is popular with tourists and locals that is normally meant by the name "Star Ferry" in common parlance. The journey is one of the must visit tourist attraction in Hong Kong.

The views of the cityscape on both sides of the harbour are excellent. Although journey time on the Star Ferry is less than fiveteen minutes, the ride offers a memorable and scenic ferry journey across one of the most-photographed harbours in the world for just HK$1.7 for the lower deck and HK$2.2 for the upper deck.

How to get there: Star Ferry

Go to TsimShaTsui or TsimShaTsui MTR station. Then walk to the Harbour front.

Go to Central or Central MTR station. Then walk to the Harbour front.
